Keys to successful and engaging virtual training

Online course in 5 modules

In the current situation, delivering attractive and impactful online sessions is a must.

Online learning brings many challenges: it is more difficult to engage attendees, it is harder to involve their attention and manage the energy, trainer is missing more visual feedback and “feeling of the group”, and facilitation requires a whole new set of skills.

If you want to excel as a trainer online and master the ways to engage, motivate and guide learners, sign up for our virtual learning course and discover all the different ways you can do that!

In this course, we will have a deep dive into each of these abilities and learn how to leverage them in online learning experiences.

Online learning potential and challenges

Online learning comes with many advantages:

✔️ it is cheaper

✔️ experts are available in remote locations

✔️ groups can be highly diverse and intercultural

✔️  learning can be embedded in everyday life and context

✔️ possibility to create connected, shorter modules for better retention of knowledge

Yet it also comes with many challenges, such  as:

How is the “Keys to successful virtual training” course solving these challenges?

The core question of impactful online learning is how can we leverage the advantages and specifics of online learning experiences, while successfully tackling downsides– and what are the principles and tools that can help us with that?

Building up a learning experience that is engaging and interactive, one that guides learners attention, energy and emotion in a fruitful way and motivates the learner by leveraging tools such as group dynamics and trainers presence is truly an art.  An art that we can very much base in the science of learning and neuroscience, translating what we know about adult learning,  human attention and memory into practical, tangible, ready-to-use tools applicable in the virtual world.

That is exactly the approach we will be taking in this course – science based, yet flexible and adaptable, practical yet engaging and creative.

Who is this course for?

This course is build primarily for trainers and facilitators who wish to improve there skills in virtual training and facilitation.

It focused on skills and tools needed for successful transfer of training design and delivery from physical training room to virtual trainer-lead workshops – “online classroom” created in live-interaction calls.

However, many of the concepts covered can also be leveraged in the context of virtual meeting and teamwork, as well as in on-demand virtual learning programs.

Learning goals of the course

Our goal is to master the following skills in virtual design and delivery:

Some of the topics discussed will include: how to leverage tools such as use of video, facilitation techniques, and chat for engagement and relationships, leveraging microlearning and pre-workshop learning, using visuals, promoting online collaboration and conversations between participants in a way that supports learning, tips & tricks for online learning design, awareness of attention-getters in virtual space, use of mindfulness in online training, importance of novelty and variety, findings from neuroscience of learning and how to use them in practice and best practices, tips and tricks and examples from practice.

How will the course look like?

The course will be delivered in five 3h long modules, each delivered in a live online mode, in an interactive and engaging way in a small group of up to 10 trainers.

While all learning goals will be stretching throughout different modules, the main topics for the modules will be:

  1. Building personal presence in virtual classroom (also great for those delivering virtual presentations or creating videos)

What attendees say

This course is targeted to the already experienced trainers who switch from ‘live’ to online training. Mirna is an expert in the subject matter so I learnt a lot, and the best thing was that the learning process was designed from many perspectives. The idea of ‘meta-position where the participants, together with the trainer, discuss the reasons and the results of the particular decision in training design was both amusing and very efficient. At the same time, the course was teaching by example in the best possible way – Mirna creates a learning environment that is at the same time warm, challenging and friendly. I enjoyed it a lot and I highly recommend it.

Renata Takac, Development Consultant, Croatia

This training was an amazing experience and it empowered me so much. As our trainer, Mirna was a perfect example of how to lead virtual training successfully. She answered all of our questions and concerns and gave us great tools, tips and tricks for conducting virtual training.

Nika Gulin, Public Speaking Trainer, Croatia

Mirna’s unique energy, thoughtful design and the way she walks-the-talk, really energizes participants – even after a long day at work! With a feeling that I’m in the Inception for trainers I keep analyzing the training within the training and realizing how much I’ve learned from each session and how practical and tangible that learning was.

Meri Tukac, Technical Training Instructor, Croatia

I found the course very useful for commencing facilitation online. The tips and skills from both the facilitator and from within the group were very useful in developing my virtual online training.
